It will be a double bill! We will be reading 2 one-act plays by Terence Rattigan (1911 – 1977), a British dramatist and screenwriter :
The Browning Version and Harlequinade

The Browning Version
Synopsis: This play vividly depicts the agony of an unpopular but dedicated teacher who snatches a last shred of dignity from the collapse of his career and his marriage. The tale shows how we often fail to realise the real worth of a person.

Harlequinade
Synopsis: This is a comic play about a professional theatre company staging Romeo and Juliet. Leading man Arthur’s world is turned upside down one evening when his previously unknown daughter appears, just as he is about to go on stage to play Romeo.
