
We are happy to invite you to a full day directing workshop with Tara Brodin,
co-founder of the Close Encounters Theatre acting school in Zürich (CET, www.closeencounterstheatre.com).
We held a very enjoyable and successful acting and improvisation workshop with Tara in September, and we are excited to welcome her back. Her fresh, fun and instructive methods are a delight!

About Tara Brodin MFA, B.Ed, Dip. Theatre Arts:
Tara Brodin is an award-winning artistic director, educator and performer. She received her theatre training from the University of Alberta and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Practice and a Bachelor of Education in Theatre. In addition, she has a performance degree from Grant MacEwan University specializing in Acting and Musical Theatre. Tara has enriched her knowledge of world theatre
traditions by travelling to study with renowned theatre practitioners. She has worked in theatre in over twenty countries, and is currently living her dream being the Artistic Director of CET and directing their mainstage productions.
Registration and Cost
Numbers are limited and participants will be accepted on a first come basis.
The cost to members is CHF 60, and to non-members CHF 75.

Program
This workshop will be for actors as well as directors, with the focus on coaching and directing actors. You will learn how a director can achieve the best performances from actors, through:
- putting yourself in the actors’ shoes, to make sure you know what it feels like to act whilst interpreting a director’s instructions
- learning various directing and coaching activities you can do, to help bring out the best in the actors.
No prior experience is needed.
