
We are happy to invite you to a full-day acting workshop at the beginning of September, and are excited to welcome our workshop leader, Tara Brodin, co-founder of the Close Encounters Theatre acting school in Zürich.

About Tara Brodin MFA, B.Ed, Dip. Theatre Arts
Tara is an award-winning artistic director, educator and performer. She received her theatre training from the University of Alberta and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Practice and a Bachelor of Education in Theatre. In addition, she has a performance degree from Grant MacEwan University specializing in Acting and Musical Theatre. Tara has enriched her knowledge of world theatre traditions by travelling to study with renowned theatre practitioners. She loves comedy and has studied the art of improvisation extensively.
Registration and Cost:
Numbers are limited and participants will be accepted on a first come basis. The cost to members is CHF 50, and to non-members CHF 65.

Program:
10:00 to 13:00 – Improvisation
The focus of the morning will be on short form games and scene structure, engaging us in exercises designed to develop listening skills, characterisation, narrative, spontaneity, and teamwork.
13:00 to 14:00 – Lunch break
Bring a picnic lunch, which you can eat in the church hall, in the garden, or in the nearby woods. There is a grocery shop nearby.
14:00 to 17:00 – Acting
In the afternoon you will learn to harness the power of your voice, and to communicate with your body. We will explore subtext, text and context, and delve into scene work.
